фил., пол. конфуцианство (этико-политическое учение, возникшее в Древнем Китае и оказывавшее огромное влияние на развитие духовной культуры, политической жизни и общественного строя Китая на протяжении свыше двух тысяч лет; основы учения были заложены в 6 в. до н. э. Конфуцием; главными в учении были вопросы этики, морали и управления государством; основным принципом конфуцианской этики является понятие жэнь ("гуманность") как высший закон взаимоотношений людей в обществе и семье, которое достигается путем нравственного самоусовершенствования на основе соблюдения ли ("этикета") — норм поведения, базирующихся на почтительности и уважении к старшим по возрасту и положению, почитании родителей, преданности государю, вежливости и т. д.)
